Carnival Spirit team welcomes guests in Barcelona

Newly enhanced Carnival Spirit returns with back-to-back sailings

BARCELONA — Carnival Cruise Line’s Carnival Spirit has returned to service following a month-long dry dock, featuring several upgrades and enhancements.

The refreshed ship set sail from Barcelona this past weekend, embarking on a unique back-to-back journey across the Atlantic and through the Panama Canal before repositioning to Seattle for the Alaska cruise season.

Among the enhancements, Carnival Spirit now features a Heroes Tribute Bar, a dedicated space honouring active-duty military personnel and veterans. With this addition, the popular venue is now available on 14 Carnival ships.

“The new Heroes Tribute Bar and all the other upgrades to Carnival Spirit are part of our ongoing effort to continually enhance our existing fleet with features we know our guests appreciate and enjoy,” said Lisa McCabe, Carnival’s vice-president of refurbishments.

Other notable upgrades include a refreshed Cloud 9 Spa, fitness centre and retail shops, along with a new Carnival Adventures Shop and Dreams Studio. A dedicated Chef’s Table dining space was added, alongside a new mini-golf course. The casino received a modern update with a redesigned layout and additional gaming machines, while the ship’s nightclub and youth program spaces were also enhanced.

BACK-TO-BACK VOYAGES BEFORE ALASKA

Guests who boarded Carnival Spirit in Barcelona are now sailing on a 14-day transatlantic voyage, making stops in Malaga and Cadiz, Spain; Ponta Delgada, Portugal; and Bermuda before arriving in Miami on March 30. Following this, the ship will embark on a 15-day sailing from Miami to Seattle, transiting the Panama Canal and visiting Cartagena, Colombia; Puntarenas, Costa Rica; and Cabo San Lucas, Mexico.
