Le Boat takes 13% off with ‘Save the Tax’ promotion

SMITHS FALLS — With Le Boat’s Save the Tax Event on summer staycations in Canada, clients can go Canadian with their vacation dollars, save the tax and support the small local business all at the same time.

Le Boat’s GST/HST exemption on all houseboat rentals kicked off earlier this month, and applies to sailings on both the Rideau Canal and the Trent-Severn Waterway.

The deal runs until March 3, offering savings worth 13% – equivalent to the GST/HST – on any Le Boat getaway in Canada (boat only).

Le Boat has a fleet of 32 Horizon Cruisers in Canada, ranging from 2- to 5-cabin vessels. Clients can choose between a 7+ night voyage or a shorter 3-6 night escape along Ontario’s two most scenic waterways: the Rideau Canal and the Trent-Severn Waterway.

Both waterways are operated by Parks Canada and officially open on May 15. The season runs through Oct. 13.

As Lisa McLean, Long Haul Marketing Manager for Le Boat, notes, with the rising cost of international travel and the fluctuating Canadian dollar, many Canadians are opting for a staycation this year.

“Our houseboating vacations let everyone experience Canada’s most beautiful waterways from the comfort of their own private ‘floating cottage’. No boat license? No problem! Anyone can captain our boats after our in-depth training session, easy controls and bow & stern thrusters. Plus, by staying in Canada, travellers can shop Canadian and support small local businesses, shops and restaurants on the waterways and discover hidden gems!” says McLean.
