SEATTLE — Quark Expeditions is offering a first look at its Antarctic 2026-2027 season.
Promoted under the banner ‘New Adventures: Whales, Camping and Science’, the 2026-27 season marks Quark’s 35th anniversary in the 7th Continent.
Next year will also mark the debut of World Voyager, a ship that Quark describes as an all-suite, all-balcony expedition vessel built for science and discovery.
The 2026-27 season offers 13 itineraries and 43 departures, and clients looking to secure their spot early can take advantage of savings worth up to 15%, plus an exclusive Early Booking Bonus available until May 31, 2025.
The 168-passenger World Voyager expedition ship, ice-classed for polar exploration and retrofitted with scientific discovery and immersion in mind, offers all-balcony suites with incredible views, plus access to a state-of-the-art presentation theatre and Science Hub.
Debuting in the Antarctic 2026-2027 season, Quark’s Science & Discovery Program will play an integral role in all World Voyager departures. This program offers guests the unique opportunity to engage directly with scientists and researchers and participate in citizen science activities with the expedition team to collect and record data.
Activities include conducting seabird surveys on deck, documenting whale sightings, and participating in interactive water sampling activities to measure environmental conditions.
The company has formed an exclusive partnership with the Friedlaender Lab at the University of California, San Diego, a collaboration that’s at the heart of Quark’s 11-day Antarctic Marine Mammals: The World of Whales and Seals expedition.
“Our partnership with Quark Expeditions presents an incredible opportunity to spend time with these magnificent creatures, studying and observing them in their natural habitat. This is essential in gathering the critical information needed to advance conservation efforts—not just for these baleen whales, but for the entire Antarctic marine ecosystem,” said Ari Friedlaender, founder of the Friedlaender Lab.
Quark Expeditions will also offer new and expanded off-ship adventures, including select departures of ‘Antarctic Explorer: Discovering the 7th Continent’ onboard Ocean Explorer offering enhanced camping experiences.
There’s also a new adventure, ‘Antarctica by Helicopter: Crossing the Circle & the Peninsula (Feb. 16 – March 1, 2027) where passengers can soar above Antarctica aboard Ultramarine’s twin-engine helicopters. A minimum of two flightseeing and one heli-landing below the Antarctic Circle are included in the price of the expedition.
