Viking Star was named best new ship of 2015 in the ocean category of Cruise Critic’s best cruise lines awards.
Cruise Critic said the 930-passenger Viking Star offers a new product for cruisers with an overall design comparable to a boutique hotel and an inclusive price structure typically found on river cruises covering Wi-Fi, alcohol with lunch and dinner and a free shore excursion in every port.
Cruise Critic also named Carnival Cruise Line the best value-for-money and Royal Caribbean best for families, best entertainment and best suites.
Crystal Cruises won best for luxury; Celebrity Cruises won best dining; Disney Cruise Line won best inside cabins; MSC Cruises won best standard cabins; Windstar Cruises won best for romance; Norwegian Cruise Line won best nightlife; Azamara Club Cruises was awarded best shore excursions and best itineraries, and Un-Cruise Adventures won best for adventure.
In the river category, Uniworld Boutique River Cruise Collection received awards for best river cruise line, best new river ship for its Maria Theresa vessel, and best shore excursions.
