TORONTO — Starting in April 2021 the Globus family of brands will require proof of COVID-19 vaccination, recovery or a negative COVID-19 test, prior to travel.
All four brands – Globus, Cosmos, Avalon Waterways and Monograms – are implementing the updates to their pre-trip Health & Safety Protocols, for tours, river cruises and independent vacation packages in North America and also abroad.
“The health and safety of our travellers is our No. 1 priority,” said Stéphanie Bishop, managing director of the Globus family of brands. “In addition to unveiling new pre-trip requirements today, we have continued to enhance on-trip safety standards throughout the pandemic to ensure we’re ready to welcome guests back to travel when the world is ready.”
Travellers are now required to offer Globus family of brands’ personnel one of the following printed and/or digital verifications upon arrival:
- Proof of COVID-19 vaccination at least 14 days prior to travel; or
- Proof of a negative COVID-19 test (NAAT/PCR or antigen) result within 72 hours of travel; or
- Proof of recovery from a confirmed COVID-19 diagnosis within 3 months of travel
Travellers will not be able to join a planned vacation with Globus, Cosmos, Avalon Waterways or Monograms unless they have one of these 3 verifications, according to the company.
The Globus family of brands also announced that it will facilitate – and cover – additional COVID-19 testing, if required, for guests to return to their home country, as well as tests on trip if guests show symptoms.
The new protocols will take effect in April 2021.
In October 2020 Globus successfully hosted a five-day ‘Canadian Rockies Escape’ tour, its first trip since the pandemic started in March 2020.
With the current second wave and COVID-19 variants the Globus family of brands has suspended all operations through April 2021.
