Costa Cruises’ new ‘Holideals’ include discounted rates and onboard credits

Costa announces new fare structure to accommodate all budgets

MIAMI — Costa Cruises has unveiled a new pricing system that essentially restructures its fares, allowing the line to meet every need and budget.

Designed with a range of budgets in mind, the new structure is available for cruises departing on or after April 1, 2018 and comprises four categories: Basic, Total Comfort Classic, Total Comfort Premium, and Deluxe.

Costa developed the new price system to highlight four components: greater transparency to choose all-inclusive packages, reward early bookings, more attention to families, and the option to choose among luxury, all-inclusive and base packages.

The Basic level – the most affordable option – gives guests access to complimentary services and amenities such as gala dinners, entertainment activities like treasure hunts, karaoke and theme evenings, as well as use of the ship’s pools, hot tubs, exercise areas and fitness facilities.

Total Comfort, which includes everything in Basic, is split into two categories: Classic and Premium. Total Comfort Classic includes complimentary services and amenities like a ‘Pranzo e Cena’ beverage package (a selection of unlimited wines, beers and soft drinks by the glass at lunch and dinner) and the choice of a specific cabin when booking the cruise.

Total Comfort Premium includes a Brindiamo beverage package, which allows guests to have their favourite drinks at any time of day during the cruise. Plus, when booking the cruise, guests are able to choose a specific cabin in a prime location, as well as select first or second seating at dinner.

Guests who want an exclusive cruise experience can book the Deluxe rate. With Deluxe fares guests sail in a spacious suite with access to premium services and luxurious amenities, such as one-day spa access, and the Intenditore beverage package, which provides unlimited drinks priced up to $9 served by the glass. With the Deluxe package, breakfast, lunch and dinner is served in the Club Restaurant.

Additional exclusive perks in the Deluxe rate include personalized invitations to special events onboard; a basket of assorted fruit in the suite replenished daily; a bottle of Ferrari sparkling wine; Illy espresso coffee; a complimentary in-suite minibar with an assortment of drinks; a pampering pillow menu; complimentary breakfast served in the suite; 24-hour complimentary room service; and more.

“Costa is an innovator in the cruise industry, and our new price system is another example of how we listen to our guests and improve our offerings based on their needs and feedback,” said Scott Knutson, vice president of sales and marketing for Costa Cruises North America. “With the variety in our new rate levels, Costa provides standard packages for those who are budget conscious, as well as rates for those who’d like to treat themselves to some extra privileges.”
