MONTREAL — Scandinavia will be closer than ever this year, thanks to Transat’s two direct flights/week out of Montreal to Copenhagen this summer season.
The tour operator is encouraging travellers to see Scandinavia this year with a selection of guided tours, packages and cruises that highlight Nordic splendours.
The 14-day ‘Viking Route in Denmark & Sweden’ tour, for example, includes air travel, transfers, accommodations, coach and ferry transport, and the services of an experienced guide. Guests will stroll through the cobbled streets of Ribe’s old town, tour the royal castles of Koldinghus and Frederiksborg, browse through the Viking Ship Museum in Roskilde, and spot seals in their natural habitat during a scenic cruise in the Kattegat Strait.
Transat is also offering two multi-city packages lasting nine of 11 days, each of which features three destinations. The first, ‘Denmark’s Highlights’, focuses on the country’s cultural heritage with a stop at the ARoS modern art museum in Aarhus and a visit to Odense, birthplace of Hans Christian Andersen. The second package, ‘Capitals of the North’, includes kayaking in the Oslo fjord and delicious Nordic cuisine at Copenhagen’s hippest wine bars.
For groups of 10 passengers or more, Transat suggests one of four cruise packages that explore Baltic and Scandinavian coastal attractions, all sailing from Copenhagen. While on these cruises, guests will explore the little-known historic centres of Estonia, marvel over Finland’s architectural wonders, and soak up local culture in Germany’s top cosmopolitan cities.
Air Transat is the only carrier to offer nonstop service between Montreal and Copenhagen, with two flights per week from June 16 to Sept. 20, 2020. The destination is also accessible to Canadians from Toronto and Vancouver via Montreal. Passengers fly on the Airbus A321neoLR featuring the spacious Club Class and gourmet dining.
