TORONTO — The books are officially open for Club Med’s newest Caribbean resort, the Club Med Michès Playa Esmeralda, opening in December 2019.
With a price tag of US$100 million, the all-inclusive resort marks the very first operating resort in the soon-to-be-developed region of Michès on the Dominican Republic’s northeast coast.
At 37 hectares, it’s also Club Med’s biggest project of its type in the Caribbean in the past 40 years, and will be the first full Exclusive Collection resort in the Americas, acting as the new flagship of the dedicated line in the region.
As reported earlier this fall, Club Med Michès Playa Esmeralda will feature four boutique villages, each with its own unique environment, activities and accommodations. It will also boast an array of included land and water sports on property and eco-friendly elements such as a tree re-planting program, a community garden as well as educational mini-sessions during which guests can learn about sustainable initiatives.
