Carnival Venezia arrives in New York City

NEW YORK CITY — It was a momentous morning for Carnival Venezia, which sailed into its New York City homeport for the first time on June 12.

The latest addition to the Carnival Cruise Line fleet arrived in the Big Apple after completing a 15-day transatlantic sailing that began in Barcelona, Spain.

Carnival will host a welcome ceremony onboard the ship on June 14, with television host and comedian Jay Leno becoming the first godfather to be named to a Carnival ship.

On June 14, Carnival Venezia will then mark its first departure from the Manhattan Cruise Terminal on a four-day cruise to Bermuda.

The 25th ship in the Carnival fleet, Carnival Venezia is debuting the ‘Carnival Fun Italian Style’ concept on board, complete with new restaurants, bars, entertainment programming and a Venice-inspired design.

From New York, the ship will offer a wide range of sailing options, including 10 different cruise durations and 22 unique itineraries featuring visits to 25 ports across 14 countries.
