TORONTO — Following its inaugural flight from Toronto to Montego Bay last week, Canada Jetlines has announced a new commitment to Wing Kidz in support of at-risk children in the destination.
In addition to a financial contribution, the airline donated essential school supplies that will directly benefit Wing Kidz’s education program for children in grades 1-6. The organization, founded by Lecia Allen, is dedicated to providing a safe haven and educational support for children in Montego Bay.
“We recognize the tremendous impact Ms. Lecia Allen has already made on the lives of 50 students, and we hope our contribution will further support their dreams and strengthen their capacity to meet the growing needs of the community,” said Eddy Doyle, CEO of Canada Jetlines who presented the gifts directly to the organization in Montego Bay.
On Canada Jetlines’ contributions, Allen added: “Thank you for being interested in what we are doing. People often just talk about helping but then do not. But Canada Jetlines stepped up and helped strengthen our wings.”
According to Doyle, Canada Jetlines firmly believes that education is the key to unlocking a brighter future for the next generation. It’s committed to giving back to the communities it flies to and serves.
Canada Jetlines’ inaugural flight from Toronto Pearson to Montego Bay took off on Dec. 9 with an initial frequency of 2x/weekly, on Saturdays and Sundays. It expects to add a third weekly flight starting in 2024.
