TORONTO — Canada Jetlines has met the Canadian Transportation Agency’s financial requirements.
It’s one of the last hurdles Canada Jetlines needed to clear before take off. At last word, following its first A320 aircraft reveal in March 2022, Canada Jetlines was still planning to start flights in the coming months with a network that will eventually include U.S., Mexico and Caribbean destinations as well as Canadian cities. In April 2022 Canada Jetlines announced Toronto Pearson as its hub.
Canada Jetlines got its Stage 1 licensing approval from the CTA in March. The formal CTA commercial license will come following the issuance of the Air Operator Certificate (AOC) by Transport Canada.
Says Eddy Doyle, CEO, Canada Jetlines: “This is an important milestone for Canada Jetlines as we are approaching the completion of the AOC process with Transport Canada…We are confident that we will operate our first commercial flight this summer and plan to announce our commercial schedule in the coming weeks.”
