TORONTO — Exactly a week after being granted authority to offer flights to the United States, Canada Jetlines has announced its first international route: Toronto to Las Vegas, launching in January.
The new leisure airline, which celebrated its inaugural flight in September 2022 from Toronto to Calgary, will be starting nonstop service from Toronto (YYZ) to Las Vegas (LAS) on Jan. 19, 2023, with multiple frequencies per week. The new service will be Jetlines’ third nonstop route to serve Canadians, in addition to Toronto-Calgary, and Toronto-Vancouver, which will commence in December 2022.
On Nov. 2, Travelweek reported that the airline was granted economic authority by the United States Department of Transportation to serve the U.S. FAA approval, which is expected by year’s end, is the last step needed for Jetlines to operate to the U.S.
“We are incredibly excited to launch Canada Jetlines’ International services with a route to the entertainment capital of the world,” said Eddy Doyle, Chief Executive Officer of Canada Jetlines. “As we continue to expand our international network with our first route into the U.S., we look forward to beginning services in such a coveted tourist and convention destination such as Las Vegas.”
Canada Jetlines will operate the new Las Vegas flight with its growing fleet of Airbus A320 aircraft, including its recently announced second aircraft, which is expected to be delivered by this December.
Currently, biweekly flights operate Thursdays and Sundays out of Toronto (YYZ) to Calgary (YYC) from 07:55 a.m. EST – 10:10 a.m. MST, and returns from YYC to YYZ, 11:40 a.m. MST – 17:20 EST.
