TORONTO — Just two days after announcing its first international route to Las Vegas, Canada Jetlines has confirmed a second U.S. destination: Melbourne, Florida.
Two flights per week will commence Jan. 19, 2023 from Toronto Pearson International Airport (YYZ) to Melbourne Orlando International Airport (MLB), with increased frequency to follow. These flights, which are still subject to final Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) approval, will operate on Jetlines’ growing fleet of Airbus A320 aircraft, including its recently announced second aircraft, which is expected to be delivered by this December.
Toronto-Melbourne marks the airline’s fourth nonstop route following its official launch in September. It is currently offering Toronto-Calgary service and will soon start twice-weekly service between Toronto-Vancouver in December 2022. Earlier this week, it announced Toronto-Las Vegas as its first international route, also launching on Jan. 19, 2023.
“Our Canada Jetlines family is thrilled to launch service to another exciting U.S. destination this winter – continuing expansion of our international network of convenient leisure and business travel,” said Eddy Doyle, Chief Executive Officer of Canada Jetlines. “Canada is one of the top countries for international tourists to Central Florida and we are pleased to connect Canadians to their favourite sun destinations as they begin to plan winter vacations.”
The announcement comes as work nears completion on a U$72 million terminal renovation and expansion project at MLB. The project will provide major upgrades to the MLB customer experience with the addition of 86,000 square feet of new facilities.
