TORONTO — Canada Jetlines has signed a new lease agreement for its second Airbus A320 aircraft.
Provided by CCB Leasing, the new aircraft is expected to be delivered by Nov. 30, 2022, two months after the airline’s inaugural flight from Toronto to Calgary on Sept. 22.
Onboard, the aircraft will feature a cabin configured with the new Recaro 3530 seats, in-seat usb power and personal electronic device holder. Canada Jetlines will also install the Flymingo Box system, which offers an enhanced passenger experience through its wireless inflight entertainment.
“I am pleased that we have a definitive agreement for our second aircraft,” said Eddy Doyle, CEO, Canada Jetlines. “The Airbus A320 is a fuel-efficient, narrow-body framework that supports a high-density seat configuration. Canada Jetlines completed its licensing process last August and inaugural flight on Sept. 22, 2022 and will be using the aircraft to expand its network in time for the upcoming winter travel season.”
Following its launch last month, Canada Jetlines is currently offering biweekly flights on Thursdays and Sundays out of Toronto to Calgary. Frequency will increase to 3x/week, Thursdays through Sundays, in time for the holidays. The airline hopes to expand its fleet to 15 Airbus A320s by the year 2025, at a rate of five aircraft per year.
