MIAMI — AIC Hotel Group, with a portfolio that includes sales and marketing for Hard Rock Hotels in Mexico and the Caribbean, is expanding and restructuring its Canadian business development team to maximize support for its Canadian travel partners.
“Over the past year, our portfolio of brands has rapidly expanded which has naturally led our business development team to grow as well,” says AIC’s Director of Field Sales, Carilis Felipe.
“We want to make sure our travel partners are always taken care of in the best way possible, and this strategic restructure ensures exactly that.”
She adds: “Canada is a very important market for us and our travel partners’ unwavering support is also one of the reasons we decided to expand the team.
Sarah Smith leads the team, continuing in her role as Regional Director of Business Development, supporting national accounts and growing business with select key agencies in Ontario.
Justine Cheema’s territory has expanded to include Saskatchewan in addition to B.C. and Alberta. Cynthia Cantin continues to represent the brand in Quebec and Atlantic Canada.
AIC has also brought onboard two new BDMs: Jasmine Grant and Stacy Niemi.
Grant is working with Smith to grow AIC Hotel Group’s business in Ontario and Manitoba.
Meanwhile Niemi will be exclusively representing AIC Hotel Group’s Nobu Hotels in the Canadian market. She will work alongside the entire BDM team to grow business for the Nobu brand in their respective territories.

The entire team reports directly to Felipe, who was promoted to Director of Field Sales in January 2019.
