TORONTO — Freestyle travel expert, Busabout, is excited to announce the appointment of Damien Bennett to the role of Director of Sales for North America, becoming the brand’s first full-time employee to service Canada, and specifically focused on building relationships with the travel trade.
Busabout is a flexible hop-on hop-off travel network in Europe, offering the major cities, the continents best festivals and adventures like sailing in Croatia or Eastern European Treks. The product focuses on flexibility, choice and independence with no fixed itineraries, offering passengers the freedom to see Europe their way, at their own pace.
Busabout also offers many travel options in Asia, for those looking to explore Thailand, Laos, Vietnam, Cambodia and Burma, and offers a great Thai Island Flexi Hopper.
“Busabout is a choose your own adventure type of trip, but adds in the safety net of a little bit of guidance from one of our guides, happy share their knowledge of the destinations,” says Bennett. “We offer a great amount of flexibility, as well as the social side of travelling together and meeting new friends.”
Started in 1998, Busabout brings independent travellers to the best destinations across Europe and Asia with flexible transportation-only, hop-on hop-off travel network. It offers three ways to travel: flexitrip giving access to the entire network only limited by the number of travel days; loops which allow travellers to explore a particular region on a pre-determined route; and one-ways which allow for total flexibility in regards to start and end destinations.
Busabout also has many different options to further customize trips including add-on adventure tours like Greek Islands and Iberian Adventure, or festival trips to iconic Oktoberfest and La Tomatina in Spain.
“This particular product is for someone who wants to experience Europe with a little more freedom and flexibility of choice. You can create your own itinerary, and make changes online in the middle of the trip,” explains Bennett. “And complementing the flexibility is the social side, where people may start as an individual traveller, but will quickly mingle with others – and it’s this social side to travelling that is the best part.”
Bennett brings with him 16 years of industry experience and youth travel expertise with The Travel Corporation, working for Contiki from 1999 to 2015, and most recently as Head of Sales for UK & Europe in London.
“I’m looking forward to building more awareness of Busabout’s unique product in North America, a robust market where freedom and flexibility are hugely important to travellers,” says Bennett. “My main focus is on building strong relationships with the Canadian and American travel trade, so I’ve been very pleased to see how welcoming and receptive agents have been to Busabout so far.”
With over 34 different destinations, no upper age limit and no fixed itinerary or set time limit, Busabout is a great travel choice for those looking to meet fellow travellers and explore the world on their own terms.
