TORONTO — Vancouverites may be getting a sneak peek of the new five-star, adults-only Riu Republica when it opens this June, thanks to new vacation packages just launched by Signature Vacations.
Upon its grand opening in Punta Cana, the 24-hour all-inclusive, 18-plus Riu Republica will boast two large infinity pools with sun terraces, free Wi-Fi throughout, concierge service, modern fitness centre, Jacuzzi, steam bath and a Renova Spa. Dining options will be varied courtesy of three à la carte restaurants (Italian, Asian and grill-steakhouse), plus there’ll be five bars, including a swim-up pool bar and a 24-hour sports bar.
As for activities, guests can take advantage of a wide range of complimentary watersports like windsurfing, kayaking, snorkelling and an introductory diving lesson in the pool The resort also offers easy access to several of the island’s world-class golf courses nearby, not to mention close proximity to nightlife.
With the reintroduction of Sunwing Airlines’ convenient summertime Vancouver connection (via Toronto) to Punta Cana, it’s never been easier for West Coast travellers to reach the Dominican Republic. Summer service begins on May 26 with a weekly Thursday flight, and will expand to a second weekly flight on Sundays beginning June 12 until Aug. 28, inclusive.
A week a Riu Republica is available from $795 plus $470 taxes, per person, based on two people sharing a Standard Room on an all-inclusive basis and departing from Vancouver on June 9.
