TORONTO — As part of its expansion efforts in Cuba, Blue Diamond Resorts, together with Grupo Gran Caribe, have taken over operations and management of the iconic Inglaterra Hotel in Havana.
The takeover, which went into effect on Nov. 1, will see the 83-room hotel – the oldest in Havana – continue to operate under its own name and maintain its legacy as National Monument. Its strategic location in the cultural epicenter of Havana allows guests to have access to a variety of notable sites including the National Capitol, Old Havana, the Grand National Theater and the Fine Arts National Museum.
“We want to offer a wide variety of accommodation options to provide the best experiences,” said Mohamad Fawzi, Managing Director for Blue Diamond Resorts Cuba. “Operating the Inglaterra Hotel, which for many years has been a symbol of elegance and history in Havana, will allow us to increase our business opportunities with our partners and reach more vacationers who want to discover the charms of the colonial city.”
Blue Diamond Resorts Cuba has ramped up its portfolio in recent months with the opening of Royalton Habana, Mystique Habana by Royalton and its 11 properties in Cayo Largo del Sur.
