Beaches Turks & Caicos’ third scheduled closure in 2021 has no end-date yet

TORONTO — Beaches Resorts says it will do everything it can to accommodate guests impacted by the temporary scheduled closures of Beaches Turks & Caicos Resort Villages & Spa.

In an official statement Sandals Resorts International says the Beaches property will be closed Sept. 3 to Oct. 15, 2019 and again Sept. 7 to Oct. 22, 2020. The resort will also close “for an indefinite period” from January 2021.

Sandals says that for guests travelling between now and January 2021 that are not impacted by these closures, all features and facilities of the resort will be open and operating per usual.

Sandals adds: “For impacted guests, we are committed to making this as seamless as possible by allowing them to change their travel dates to Beaches Turks & Caicos or travel on their original travel dates to one of our other locations in Jamaica, Beaches Negril or Beaches Ocho Rios, at no additional cost, including airfare change fees. Guests may also choose to travel to any of our 16 Sandals Resorts.”

SRI says the upcoming closures of Beaches Turks & Caicos “are the result of several critical and long-standing issues which have impacted our operations over the past several years.  We apologize for any inconvenience caused to our customers and look forward to welcoming them back soon.”

Responding to inquiries from Beaches Resorts clients on his Instagram account SRI Founder and Chairman Gordon ‘Butch’ Stewart, said: “The atmosphere will not be affected. The resort will be 100% fully operational. All of the resort’s luxurious amenities, 5-star global gourmet dining options, land and water-sports activities, etc. will be operating at our highest standards.”

In another reply, asked if the Beaches Turks & Caicos closure will be permanent as of 2021, Stewart said the resort will close until further notice.
