WASHINGTON — Artifacts from some of the worst terrorist attacks in U.S. history are going on display for the first time at the Newseum.

A Toyota Corolla abandoned by the 9-11 hijackers at Washington Dulles International Airport is one of the items that Newseum visitors will be able to see starting Friday. It’s part of the renovated “Inside Today’s FBI” exhibit at the downtown Washington museum, which celebrates journalism and First Amendment freedoms.

The museum will also display the handcuffs used to restrain Boston Marathon bomber Dzhokar Tsarnaev (joh-HAHR’ tsahr-NEYE’-ehv) and a mobile fingerprinting device used to identify his brother, Tamerlan (TAM’-ehr-luhn). Also part of the exhibit is the SUV that was used in a failed attempt to bomb Times Square in 2010, with the bomb components inside.
