TORONTO — There’ll be more fam trips to go around next year thanks to G Adventures.
The small group tour operator will be increasing the number of fams in 2025 to 12, including six that are open to all travel advisors, and six that will be run exclusively with partners.
The six trips open to advisors will be available at a heavily discounted price, and will take place in Costa Rica, the Galapagos, Greece, Japan, New Zealand and Thailand. David Green, managing director for G Adventures in Canada, says he’s excited to take even more travel advisors on fam trips next year, with the number of trips being raised from 2024.
“Experiencing a destination firsthand is truly the best way for agents to attain true sense of a place in order to be able to best sell it to the right customer. On our fam trips we go beyond the usual sights however, and really get into the heart of a place and its people. As the pioneers of community tourism, we also ensure our agents see the good they are doing in the world when they book their customer on a G Adventures trip.
“I’m also delighted that we have the support from two tourist boards this year. Air New Zealand will be funding flights for what is sure to be a coveted New Zealand fam trip, and the Costa Rica Tourism Board is supporting our visit as part of its strategy to attract more Canadians to its beautiful country,” says Green.
The fam trips on offer for 2025 are as follows:
Japan Express – Osaka to Tokyo (Feb. 3-11, 2025): This condensed tour begins in Osaka and includes regional culinary delicacies, views of Mt. Fuji, a stay in a mountain temple and a visit to onsen hot springs.
Galápagos Island Hopping (May 21-29, 2025): G Adventures will take care of flight bookings in and out of Quito, with the cheapest flight cost possible, allowing advisors to save money and enjoy plenty of time to hike, snorkel and view amazing wildlife.
Journeys: Highlights of Costa Rica (June 6-16, 2025): Advisors will explore this stunning Central American nation on a fun-filled adventure that includes learning how to make tortillas with a local family, meeting a researcher at the National Geographic-supported Monteverde Institute, and hikes through the forest to seek out blue morpho butterflies and howler monkeys.
Highlights of Mainland Greece (Oct. 19-26, 2025): Highlights on this eight-day odyssey include visits to the Acropolis and Parthenon, exploring the streets of Nafplio, and marvelling over the sanctuary of Apollo.
New Zealand – North Island Multisport (Nov. 2-9, 2025): This itinerary includes biking through Karangahake Gorge, hiking the Tongariro Crossing, kayaking or jet boating along the Whanganui River, and a traditional hangi dinner. Flights included with Air New Zealand, departing Vancouver on Oct. 31, 2025 and returning on Nov. 9, 2025.
Journeys: Explore Southern Thailand (Nov. 3-10, 2025): From Koh Samui to Krabi, this tropical sojourn will allow advisors to trek through lush rainforest, snorkel in the Gulf of Thaialnd and the Andaman Sea, explore mangrove forests and traditional villages by longtail boat, and see city sights in a motorized tuk-tuk.
