TORONTO — Bahia Principe Hotels & Resorts is rebranding yet another one of its properties in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic, this time with major renovations too.

Following last month’s rebranding of the Luxury Bahia Principe Ambar Green, the resort chain has announced that it will also be rebranding – and entirely refurbishing – sister property Luxury Bahia Principe Ambar Blue. The 528-suite oceanfront hotel has closed and will reopen in November 2018 as Luxury Bahia Principe Ambar.

As one of the brand’s seven hotels in the Bavaro complex, the 528-suite, adults-only Luxury Bahia Principe Ambar will emerge looking more sophisticated and sleek, with a subdued colour scheme and a new coffee shop serving freshly baked goods. It will also boast three refurbished restaurants: Italian, Gourmet and a garden grill.

“Luxury Bahia Principe Ambar’s impressive redesign comes at an exciting time for our brand as we recently announced a portfolio rebranding and reclassified our properties into four categories and distinct experiences,” said Helen Montijano, vice president of sales and marketing, U.S. and Canada. “The renovated hotel will fall under our Luxury brand and our Escape experience signifying that it will provide high-end amenities, five-star service, and the entertainment and gastronomy offering will cater specifically to adults.”

Guests who reserve a stay at the new Luxury Bahia Principe Ambar will be privy to a multitude of benefits including on-request butler service and access to the other Bahia Principe properties at the destination (with the exception of Luxury Bahia Principe Fantasia).

Bahia Principe’s Bavaro complex will also be receiving some upgrades of its own, for use by guests at all luxury properties. These include a new sports bar with ample indoor and outdoor seating, multiple LED flatscreens and an extended beverage menu, as well as a new fitness centre featuring floor-to-ceiling windows and modern workout machines.
