“An absolute success”: Onvigo hosts first-ever fam

TORONTO — Onvigo’s first-ever fam trip was a huge success, with 11 Independent Travel Advisors (ITAs) travelling to Cancun to experience top Hyatt Inclusive Collection (HIC) properties.

The Canadian-owned and new-to-industry host agency partnered with HIC to give advisors a deeper understanding of both the destination and HIC’s offerings. Led by Onvigo’s Director of Operations Shean Carmichael and Director of Marketing Angela Bokma, as well as HIC’s Business Development Manager Brian Joseph, advisors were able to tour Hyatt Vivid Grand Island, Dreams Vista Cancun Golf & Spa Resort, Breathless Cancún Soul Resort & Spa, Dreams Playa Mujeres Golf & Spa Resort, and Secrets Playa Blanca Costa Mujeres.

Onvigo also partnered with Air Transat and Voyzant on airfare, as well as Trees4Travel, which gifted 25 trees to each toured property as part of the agency’s ongoing commitment to sustainability. As a result, Onvigo surpassed its 2024 goal of planting 200 trees, reaching a commendable 323 trees year to date.

“For some of the fam participants, this was their first time to Cancun or even Mexico, and a first for some staying at any of the HIC properties anywhere in the world,” said Carmichael. “As I often tell the ITAs, you cannot sell what you do not know, and there is no better way to learn it than to live it. 

“This first fam trip was an absolute success and our ITAs are now positioned to grow their sales with both Air Transat and the HIC properties. We are very thankful to HIC for reaching out to Onvigo to offer us the chance to work with them and to support our advisors growth. We extend deep gratitude to all our partners for the amazing collaboration.”

In order to participate in the fam, advisors had to complete an educational module on Hyatt’s Confidant Collective platform as well as set up their social media profiles so that they could share their experiences with followers and clients.
