CALABASAS, CA — AmaWaterways has added two new ships – AmaSerena and AmaVista.
With the launch of these new ships AmaWaterways is introducing the line’s first-ever connecting staterooms, underscoring the line’s commitment to advanced, innovative design.
The vessels will join their sister ships – AmaReina, AmaPrima, AmaCerto and the new AmaSonata, which was christened just last month – for Danube, Main and Rhine sailings beginning spring 2015.

The 164-passenger AmaSerena andAmaVista feature spacious, luxurious accommodations, with most staterooms boasting AmaWaterways’ unique Twin Balconies. A new feature is the line’s connecting cabins with both vessels featuring a number of joint staterooms, offering added convenience for families and groups travelling together. Staterooms are also equipped with the line’s state-of-the-art entertainment on demand system, which affords travellers complimentary access to the Internet, the latest Hollywood movies, a music library and more.
In addition, guests onboard AmaSerena and AmaVista will have access to a range of amenities, including salon and massage services, fitness rooms, refreshing sun decks and heated swimming pools with swim-up bars. Complimentary unlimited wine, beer and soft drinks are available with lunch and dinner; and complimentary bottled water is provided daily in all staterooms.
Joining the line’s rapidly expanding European fleet, these two ships will offer new opportunities to experience the line’s culturally immersive voyages. AmaSerena’s 2015 itineraries include:
The Enchanting Rhine – This 7-night journey begins in Amsterdam, with stops at the majestic Gothic cathedral in Cologne, the German university town of Heidelberg and medieval Strasbourg. The scenic tour concludes in the cosmopolitan city of Basel, Switzerland. An optional land extension is available, offering sightseeing tours in the cities of Zurich and Lucerne.
The Enchanting Rhine cruise aboard AmaSerena will also feature two of AmaWaterways’ special themed itineraries:
Wine Cruise – Ideal for wine lovers, this itinerary spotlights Europe’s famous wine regions and features onboard lectures and tastings hosted by wine expert Christopher Silva of St. Francis Winery & Vineyards.
Jewish Heritage Cruise – Guests have the opportunity to visit synagogues, museums and other significant sights in Jewish history and culture with excursions to the Nuremberg Palace of Justice, Vienna’s Jewish Museum and more.
AmaVista will transport passengers on 7- and 14-night itineraries in 2015, including:
Tulip Time Cruise – Travellers can discover the beauty and history of the Dutch and Belgian waterways in the spring as they admire the region’s countryside in full bloom on this 7-night sailing. Guests will have the opportunity to admire the great medieval cities of Antwerp and Ghent and explore the cultural traditions of the Dutch and Flemish.
Magnificent Europe – This grand cruise takes guests on a 14-night journey from Amsterdam to Budapest along three rivers and through five countries. Guests will travel on the Rhine to the town of Cologne and admire the Main-Danube canal. The voyage continues with visits to the old grand capitals of Vienna, Bratislava and finally Budapest.
