WestJet offers to blast your vacation pics on billboards

TORONTO — Imagine showing off your vacay pics not just on Instagram, but on billboards across the country. Now that’s a real flex.

Funnily announced today on April 1, WestJet is allowing travellers to do just that with ‘Vacation Flex,’ a first-of-its-kind program that gives WestJet passengers the chance to see their vacation photos come to life in a brand new way, beyond social media.

Everyday Canadians and up-and-coming social media influencers can participate by selecting ‘Vacation Flex’ at the time of booking on WestJet.com. They can then select from the vacation images they’ve uploaded to their social media accounts, which will then be synced with digital billboards across Canada.

That’s right – you, in a bikini, on the beach, in high-def, larger than life for everyone to see. Talk about #livingmybestlife!

“When guests go on vacation, one of the things they look forward to most is chronicling their travel experience for friends and family on social media,” said WestJet Director of Marketing, Jennifer Callegaro. “We are excited to offer guests a new, creative way to share their travel stories on billboards and bus stops across Canada, with Vacation Flex.”
