TORONTO — Ahead of its new direct flight service from Toronto to Zurich this summer, SWISS International Airlines held a first-of-its-kind ‘suitcase party’ in Toronto yesterday.
Hosted in partnership with Switzerland Tourism at The Space on King, the event was held to celebrate the new service, which kicks off on May 10. The highly-anticipated route, primarily operational during the summer, aims to cater to the increasing demand for travel between Toronto and Zurich, and will operate on all days (except Monday and Wednesday) using the Airbus A330, known for its comfort and efficiency.
Flights depart from Toronto at 16:35 and arrive in Zurich at 06:30 the following day. The return from Zurich departs at 09:55 and arrives in Toronto at 13:00 local time.
“In the wake of the pandemic, it has now become clearer than ever that travel is a deeply-rooted human need, especially among the younger generations,” says SWISS Chief Commercial Officer Tamur Goudarzi Pour. “The demand for air travel continues to steadily rise, and the loadings on our flights are now higher than they have ever been before. We are delighted that we will be further expanding our route network this summer.”
