Porter Airlines to increase capacity on three Halifax routes

Porter launches new Pearson – Quebec City route, also adds Saskatoon

TORONTO — Porter Airlines is inaugurating service today between Toronto-Pearson International Airport and Québec City Jean Lesage International Airport.

These seasonal roundtrip flights will operate daily until Oct. 26 on Porter’s new Embraer E195-E2 aircraft.

The new service more than doubles Porter’s capacity between the two cities, complementing existing flights between YQB and Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport (YTZ), which are operated by the 78-seat De Havilland Dash 8-400 aircraft.

“Porter’s new service adds more capacity on a busy seasonal route, and more opportunities for passengers to enjoy the elevated economy experience they deserve,” says Kevin Jackson, President, Porter Airlines.

SASKATOON ROUTE NOW OPERATIONAL

In other news, Porter’s flights linking Saskatoon and Toronto are now up and running.

The airline landed in Saskatoon for the first time yesterday, kicking off its daily nonstop roundtrip service between Toronto Pearson International Airport (YYZ) and Saskatoon International Airport (YXE).

The new route means Porter now has a presence in all 10 Canadian provinces for the first time in its history. The route, serviced by Porter’s Embraer E195-E2 aircraft, connects to Porter’s Eastern Canada network out of Toronto-Pearson, including Halifax, Montréal, Ottawa and St. John’s.

“Saskatoon is an important destination as Porter grows its cross-Canada network. Serving all 10 provinces is extremely meaningful for us, creating added connectivity between the east and the west. Leisure and business travellers alike can now experience Porter’s renowned hospitality on this route,” says Jackson.

From Toronto, flights depart at 2:30 p.m., arriving in Saskatoon at 4:04 p.m. On the return leg, flights depart Saskatoon at 4:55 p.m., landing in Toronto at 10:09 p.m.
