MONTREAL — KLM’s capacity will increase 4% in summer 2025 compared to summer 2024, however the airline is still flying at approximately 90% of its intercontinental capacity due to long delivery times for aircraft parts and a shortage of pilots.
KLM will fly to 161 destinations this summer, 95 in Europe and 66 intercontinental. . The summer schedule starts March 30 and runs until Oct. 25.
In Canada, KLM serves Toronto, Vancouver, Edmonton, Calgary and Montreal.
KLM’s recently released look-ahead for summer 2025 included a mention for Edmonton; the city can be reached five times a week, with six weekly flights during the peak period, this summer with KLM.
In other news for summer 2025, KLM’s intercontinental network will expand with San Diego, Georgetown (Guyana) and Hyderabad. KLM will also continue to fly to Portland, after this destination was added in the winter season of 2024.
KLM is welcoming three new B787-10 aircraft for intercontinental routes during the summer.
KLM flies more frequently to a number of intercontinental destinations during this summer schedule. For example, KLM offers the combined flight to Kilimanjaro and Dar es Salaam daily from June, compared to five times a week in the summer of 2024. This means almost 30% more seats than the summer schedule of 2024. KLM no longer flies to Zanzibar this summer.
KLM also offers Osaka up to five times a week from April. Las Vegas can be reached daily with KLM this summer, an increase compared to the five flights per week in 2024. KLM also offers a daily flight to Rio de Janeiro, just like in the winter.
In total, KLM will offer 10% more flights to North America this summer compared to summer 2024.
In Europe, KLM offers three new destinations this summer: Ljubljana, Exeter and Biarritz. KLM is also concentrating its flights to Milan this summer at Linate Airport, which is more conveniently located in relation to the city centre. This means that flights to Malpensa Airport will be cancelled. KLM is also deploying its new Airbus A321neo more and more often, doubling the number from five to 10 aircraft during the summer season.
KLM is increasing some frequencies in Europe this summer. For example, KLM flies twice a day to Belfast, four times a day to Porto, an extra daily flight to Barcelona and in the spring and autumn KLM flies two times a day to Split. There will also be extra flights to Krakow and an extra daily flight to Poznan. Due to these frequency increases, KLM will offer almost 25% more seats to Portugal and Croatia compared to the summer schedule in 2024.
