Canada Jetlines reports 72.8% increase in operating revenue

Canada Jetlines’ Toronto-Orlando route takes off Oct. 30

TORONTO — The countdown is on for Canada Jetlines’ inaugural flight from Toronto to Orlando, set to take off on Oct. 30, 2023.

Four weekly flights will be available on Mondays, Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays, from Toronto Pearson International Airport (YYZ) to Orlando International Airport (MCO).

This latest addition to the airline’s network of destinations joins the ranks of Cancun, Montego Bay, Las Vegas and Melbourne, Florida.

“Canada Jetlines is thrilled to introduce this exciting new route between Toronto and Orlando, further solidifying our commitment to making travel accessible and enjoyable for our passengers,” said Eddy Doyle, Chief Executive Officer of Canada Jetlines. “We eagerly anticipate connecting even more Canadians with the incredible experiences that Orlando has to offer.”

Orlando welcomed 74 million annual visitors in 2022, representing a 25% increase over the previous year. According to Doyle, as the demand for travel evolves, Canada Jetlines aims to cater to the shifting preferences of Canadian travellers by expanding its flight services.

“Canadian Jetlines is launching new direct flight service to Orlando at the perfect time, ahead of winter travel,” said Casandra Matej, president and CEO for Visit Orlando. “Value-focused air carriers like Canadian Jetlines are especially appealing for families and visitors on a budget, who are looking to save money on travel while enjoying the sunshine in the theme park capital of the world.”

The airline is fresh off a hugely successful Q2 in 2023, reporting total operating revenues of $8.8 million compared to $5.1 million in the previous quarter, an increase of 72.8%. It also welcomed its third Airbus A320 aircraft this past July.
