Airlines issue travel alerts ahead of latest winter storm

TORONTO — Airlines are activating their flexible change policies ahead of the latest winter storm set to hit part of the northeastern U.S. as well as Ontario and Quebec over the next few days.

Air Canada has activated its flexible change policy for flights in and out of New York City (JFK, LGA and EWR) as well as Philadelphia and Washington (DCA and IAD) for Feb. 11 and Feb. 12.

Air Canada’s policy also applies to toronto (YYZ and YTZ), Montreal, Quebec City, Ottawa and Boston for Feb. 12 and Feb. 13.

Porter Airlines’ travel advisories apply to flights in and out of Toronto Pearson for Feb. 11, 12 and 13.

Sunwing Vacations has also posted a travel advisory: “Heavy snowfall is expected in Montreal, Ottawa, Quebec City, Toronto, London, Windsor, Moncton and Halifax commencing on February 12, 2025 and is expected to continue into February 13, 2025. Travellers with flight departures during this period are encouraged to sign up for flight alerts and check their flight status before travelling, and should allow plenty of time to arrive at the airport. We are monitoring the weather forecast closely and will do all that we can to minimize disruptions to customers’ travel plans.”
