PARIS — The latest update from Air France says the airline plans to operate 75% of its flights today in view of an estimated 28% of staff planning to strike. The flight schedule will be updated 24 hours in advance.
Air France will operate 50% of its long-haul flights from Paris; 75% of its medium-haul flights to and from Paris-Charles de Gaulle; and 85% of its short-haul flights on this first day of the strike.
Disruptions and delays are to be expected, notes the airline.
A notice at the carrier’s website says: “Air France regrets this situation and is making every effort to minimize the inconvenience this strike action may cause to its customers.”
Passengers are asked to check at airfrance.com to see if their flight is operating before going to the airport.
Air France says close to 60,000 texts and messages have been sent individually and in real time to inform passengers due to travel on Feb. 22.
Regardless of ticket type, Air France is offering all its passengers reserved on an Air France operated Feb. 22 flight to modify their ticket to reschedule their flight up to Feb. 27 inclusive, free of charge, subject to available seats when changing their reservation, or receive a voucher valid for one year on Air France or KLM to postpone their trip beyond Feb. 27, to change their destination or departure airport or to cancel their tickets at airfrance.com in the ‘Review / modify your reservations’ section, and on the Air France App, via Twitter with #Airfrance on Facebook.com/airfrance, by calling the toll-free number: 0 800 240 260 (available from France or overseas departments) or +33 1 57 02 10 58 (from abroad), or from their usual retailer.
