MONTREAL — After reaching a tentative deal with its pilots and avoiding a potential strike this week, Air Canada is thanking customers for their patience with a new appreciation deal that includes 25% off and bonus Aeroplan points.
Acknowledging how travellers changed their plans in anticipation of a labour disruption, the airline is offering 25% off on new bookings with a bonus of 2,500 extra Aeroplan points. The offer is now live and will be available until 11:59 p.m. on Sept. 18, for travel between Sept. 28, 2024 and May 31, 2025.
In addition, Air Canada will be surprising its customers at select airports across Canada with tokens of appreciation that include Aeroplan points, lounge vouchers, snacks, swag and more.
Air Canada and the Air Line Pilots Association (ALPA), which represents more than 5,400 pilots at Air Canada and Air Canada Rouge, reached a tentative, four-year collective agreement this past weekend, avoiding a potential strike or lock-out position that could’ve come as early as Sept. 18. Terms of the new agreement will remain confidential pending a ratification vote by the members, which is expected to be completed over the next month, and approval by Air Canada’s board of directors.
