MONTREAL — Air Canada is offering a one-time change fee waiver for all destinations, across the board, for tickets purchased March 4 – 31, 2020, in an effort to reassure travellers unsure about booking flights amid the coronavirus outbreak.
New messaging has been posted on the airline’s website today.
“When you purchase a ticket between March 4 and March 31, 2020, Air Canada will allow you to make a one-time change to your flight without incurring a change fee up to 14 days before travel,” says the airline.
“Changes can be made online, through your travel agent, or by calling Air Canada Reservations at 1-888-247-2262.”
The one-time change fee waiver also applies to Aeroplan Flight Reward bookings. Passengers are asked to contact Aeroplan directly if they choose to make changes to their booking.
The one-time change fee waiver applies to travel within 12 months of the issue date on the original ticket, provided changes are made at least 14 days before the departing flight. Any fare difference will apply.
The one-time change fee waiver applies to any of Air Canada’s published fares, regardless of cabin.
According to reports WestJet is also offering a one-time change fee waiver for new bookings March 3 – 17, for travel until June 24.
