PORT CREDIT, ON — After more than 30 years running explorations in the Arctic, Adventure Canada has announced the debut of new Antarctica expeditions for winter 2021.
Launched in partnerships with Chimu Adventures, the three new voyages take place onboard the 198-passenger Ocean Endeavour, which will transport guests from Ushuaia, Argentina to the elusive White Continent. Here, they’ll zodiac past icebergs, glaciated mountains and volcanoes, and encounter wildlife like whales, seals and penguins. An expert staff of historians, geologists and ecologists will accompany guests to provide lectures and onshore interpretations.

Journey to the Circle
This 14-day expedition journeys across the Drake Passage toward the Sub-Antarctic South Shetland Islands. Guests will embark on daily zodiac expeditions and make shore landings to hike to panoramic viewpoints. They’ll also kayak among ice drifts and snowshoe to a scientific base before crossing the Antarctic Circle to watch humpback and minke whales feed on the krill-rich waters. This trip departs Jan. 5-18, 2021 and is priced from US$7,990.
Antarctica South Georgia & Falklands Explorer
On this 21-day exploration, guests will travel south from Ushuaia across the Drake Passage amid the Albatross and breaching whales before arriving at the South Shetland Islands and Antarctic Peninsula. Highlights include the historic Elephant Island where guests will make an attempt the visit Point Wild, the harsh spit on the north coast where Shackleton’s crew from the 1914-17 Trans Antarctic Expedition took refuge for over four months. The group will then sail to South Georgia, home to the greatest concentration of wildlife on the planet, as well as the Falkland Islands for incredible birdwatching. This tour departs Jan. 17-Feb. 6, 2021 and is priced from $13,990.
Discover Antarctica
This 11-day expedition spends a day exploring Tierra del Fuego National Park before sailing along the Beagle Channel en route to the White Continent. Guests will cross the Drake Passage and spend four days in the South Shetland Islands and the Antarctic Peninsula. They’ll also enjoy daily zodiac expeditions, encounter penguins and elephant seals, kaya alongside icebergs and hike to panoramic vantage points. This tour departs Feb. 5-15, 2021 and Feb. 14-24, 2021 and is priced from $6,490.
