PALMA DE MALLORCA — The five-star Riu Republica is now open, offering all-inclusive 24-hour a day service and a beachfront location in Punta Cana.
The US$140 million adults-only property has “the amenities and facilities of the RIU Classic Hotels, but with the added value of the exclusive service for which the adults-only resorts are known which, until now, in the Americas was reserved for RIU Palace hotels,” says the company. Perks include a welcome glass of cava, premium drinks throughout the hotel, free WiFi in all areas including the rooms, concierge service, robes in the rooms, a special wine list and romantic dinners on the beach.
The hotel has 1,007 rooms, three large pools with solarium terraces, a gym, steam bath and jacuzzi as well as the Renova Spa wellness centre.
For dining, there’s the buffet-style La Altagracia and three a la carte restaurants: the Asian restaurant Kaori, the Italian restaurant Tagliatella and the steakhouse Quisqueya. Five bars include one that’s open 24 hours a day. There’s also an extensive program of shows and live music, and a nightclub.
On Arena Gorda Beach guests can try their hand at windsurfing, kayaking and snorkelling, or head out to Saona Island and the Punta Cana Ecological Parka & Reserve with its seven kilometre long coral reef.
