TORONTO — Over 100 agents enjoyed Sun, Sea & Sand while on Air Canada Vacations’ mega fam in Antigua and Barbuda.
The four-day fam trip, which took place earlier this month, highlighted 15 of the islands’ most beautiful properties, four of which hosted the group. These include the Royalton Antigua Resort and Spa, Verandah Resort & Spa, St James’s Club & Village, and Pineapple Beach Club.
In addition to hotel inspections, participating agents participated in a “cool, cookie, and cream” event on the grounds of the Sir Vivian Richards Cricket Stadium, named after Antigua and Barbuda’s legendary cricketer. Here, agents learned firsthand how locals cool down in 30-degree weather, with samples of hand-churned ice creams in tropical flavours like coconut and soursop, fresh fruit juices, straight-from-the-nut coconut water and snow cones.
The trip concluded with a Beach Party and Gala at Sandals Grande Antigua Resort 7 Spa, where Colin James, CEO of the Antigua and Barbuda Tourism Authority announced a special incentive for agents in attendance. Agents and a guest have a chance at winning an ACV package vacation to the islands valued at $2,500 simply by cooking clients to the destination during the upcoming winter season.
Senior Marketing Manager for Antigua and Barbuda Tameka Wharton noted that while this incentive is just for agents on the ACV fam, others should sign up on the Antigua and Barbuda Travel Agent University website (www.AntiguaBarbudaTA.com) so that they can be added to the mailing list to receive future opportunities to participate in fams and booking incentives.
