TORONTO — For Travel Agent Day, ACTA is encouraging agents to have some fun while at the same time spread the word about how important their role is in the travel ecosystem.

Beginning today, May 6, and continuing throughout the month of May, ACTA is thanking agents “for all the hours of work and determination that they put into caring for the travelling public.”

The organization has unveiled 5 steps to celebrating Travel Agent Day, each of which is aligned with an ACTA pillar.

Step 1: Celebrate your day, have some fun, win a prize!

Agents are being encouraged to post a picture or video to their social media feed (Facebook, Instagram, Linkedin) about how they are maintaining their resiliency and living their best self since COVID-19 shut down the travel industry.

Make sure to tag and follow @ACTACanada and @ACTAQuebec, and use the hashtags #TravelAgentDay, #TravelAdvisorDay and #ACTACanada.

The top 5 posts with the most likes or comments and the end of May will be entered into a draw to win a $200 Visa card. Contest ends on May 27 at 11:59 p.m.

Step 2: Promote yourself

Follow ACTA on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and Linkedin to repost their content. Agents can also create their own social media posts by downloading ACTA’s social media graphics, which are available at http://acta.ca/travel-agent-day. Don’t forget to include the aforementioned hashtags.

Step 3: Be an advocate

ACTA is reminding agents to submit their letter to the government to ensure that travel agents and travel agencies are included in sector-specific aid.

Step 4: Study like a pro
