ACTA webinars to highlight NDCs and LGBTQ+ travel

TORONTO — ACTA is inviting members to tune into two upcoming webinars in August. 

The first webinar will highlight LGBTQ+ Travel and Advocacy in the travel industry, while the other will be hosted with Sabre, focusing on helping travel agencies adopt NDCs.

Advancing LGBTQ+ Travel and Advocacy in the Travel Industry – Updates from IGLTA and ACTA

Taking place Aug. 15 and 1:00 p.m. ET, this webinar will be hosted by Renato Gagliardi, Global Membership Director of IGLTA (International Gay and Lesbian Travel Association). He will provide an update on the organization’s activities and discuss how IGLTA upholds its core values of Integrity, Community, Partnership and Pride in its work. 

Following Gagliardi’s update, the ACTA team will present an advocacy update, covering recent developments, ongoing initiatives and future plans related to ACTA’s efforts in promoting and protecting the interests of travel agencies and independent travel advisors.

Power in Partnerships: How Sabre Helps Agencies Adopt NDC

Taking place Aug. 29 at 2:00 p.m. ET, this webinar will introduce participants to Sabre’s approach with NDC, including its content and capabilities. Participants will receive a live demonstration on what booking NDC through Sabre’s agency point of sale, what Sabre Red 360 looks like, as well as need-to-knows on how to get started with NDC at Sabre. The presentation will be followed by a Q&A.

Sabre’s goal with NDC is to empower travel advisors with richer content and more personalized offers from airlines, ultimately enhancing the booking experience for travellers and improving efficiency for travel agencies. 

Sabre’s presentation will be led by: Mark Sheppard, Senior Director, Product Management (UK based); Brad Johnson, Senior Director, Product Management (US based); and Sarah Killen-Talbot, Product Manager (UK based).
