TORONTO — ACTA is inviting members to be part of an ACTA Leadership Advisory Group in 2025.
Members can apply to join one or both of the following committees in 2025: the Independent Travel Advisor (ITA) Committee and the Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DEI) Committee.
The ITA Committee focuses on addressing the unique challenges and opportunities facing independent advisors, says ACTA. “Members collaborate on initiatives ranging from advocacy to professional development programs, ensuring the independent advisor’s voice shapes industry policies and practices.”
Meanwhile the DEI Committee “works to create a more inclusive travel industry by developing strategies to attract diverse talent, enhance cultural competency in travel services, and ensure our industry serves all Canadians effectively. This committee collaborates closely with all ACTA initiatives to embed DEI principles throughout our organization.”
As ACTA notes, committee membership offers opportunities for travel advisors to …
- Contribute to and influence the future direction of Canada’s travel industry
- Network with accomplished professionals across the country
- Represent their agency and help mentor other professionals while making a lasting impact
- Help create a more inclusive and equitable travel industry
“ACTA is committed to ensuring diverse representation from all provinces and business models. We especially encourage applications from participants who can bring varied perspectives and experiences to these roles,” says ACTA. Meetings are virtual and held quarterly via Microsoft Teams.
ACTA members interested in either committee can submit their application here. Applicants may express interest in either or both committees, and are asked to indicate their preference(s) in the application.
The deadline to apply is Jan. 31 and committee selections will be announced in February.
