TORONTO — ACTA held a two-day conference for travel and tourism schools educators and professors at Centennial College earlier this month.
The conference was directly in line with ACTA’s strategic priority to increase interest in the travel industry as a career option and work with travel programs on curriculum and content to ensure that graduates are immediately employable.
Educators from across the country attended the two-day event.
Sessions included an overview of Manuversity presented by Janet Pacini Thibodeau, Paul Pousin and Mike Sanderson from Manulife Travel Insurance, Technology and Skills in the Travel Industry presented by Robyn Cino from Tripcentral.ca, The 2014 Travel Industry – Teaching the Students What They Need to Know presented by Rob Stockman from Transat Distribution, Teaching Cruising and Job Opportunities in the Cruise Industry presented by Mary Ogaki from Royal Caribbean Cruise Line and Certification in the Travel Industry presented by Craig MacDonald from CTHRC and Christine Chilton from ACTA.
The conference also included a travel industry panel and open sessions for the educators to have the opportunity to share ideas and brainstorm.
