The bi-annual Wings & Waves Festival, sponsored by Embry Riddle Aeronautical University, shows off flying skills of graduates and fellow pilots for two days, and coincides with the university’s homecoming. The free event had spectators crowding the beloved beach to watch planes making white trails in the clear blue sky.

The same weekend, the annual Daytona Blues Festival, which is staged in historic Jackie  Robinson Ballpark, attracted music fans from all over central Florida during its three days, with proceeds from ticket sales benefitting local charities.
