Did you know Sirenis Hotels & Resorts is a family-run company? Did you also know it has properties in Spain, the Dominican Republic, Mexico and Cuba? In this week’s Take Five interview, we sit down with Gavin Jiménez, Business Development Manager, to take a closer look at the brand and what it has to offer Canadian sun-seekers and travel advisors.
- For travel agents who aren’t yet familiar with the brand, can you tell us a little about Sirenis Hotels & Resorts?
Sirenis Hotels & Resorts is a family-run company with 40+ years’ experience in the hospitality industry. It originated and continues to be based in Ibiza, Spain. The brand has evolved and expanded internationally. You can now find our hotels in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic, Riviera Maya, Mexico, along with Cayo Santa Maria and Varadero in Cuba.
- What unique features does Sirenis offer at each resort?
Our resorts are known to offer something for everyone. But you will find unique distinctive features that can attract a specific type of guest. Grand Sirenis Punta Cana Resort has our Aquagames waterpark and Family Suites, fun for families with suites that can accommodate up to five people. Grand Sirenis Riviera Maya offers extensive spa services in a facility that is over 2,800 square metres in size, highly recommended for Wellness travel. Grand Sirenis Cayo Santa Maria with its idyllic beaches and romantic ambiance is popular for Weddings and Honeymoons. And at Sirenis Tropical Varadero, you can find hiking at nearby Varahicacos Ecological Reserve or go on a day trip into Havana, showcasing Cuba’s authenticity in nature and culture.
- How are destination wedding bookings shaping up for 2023? Would you say couples are back to booking weddings, like before the pandemic?
For 2023 and into 2024 we are noticing many groups and destination weddings. Many couples who have waited before are now rebooking. Travellers are also combining their special events as a well-deserved reunion among family and friends. This can be seen from Canada and internationally.
- What new options are available with Sirenis this year?
We are excited to offer more choices in Cuba with Grand Sirenis Cayo Santa Maria and now Sirenis Tropical Varadero. As a benefit to travel agents, we want to make visiting Cuba easier. Interline rates for Cayo Santa Maria and Varadero can now be booked online.
Travel agents can reach out to me directly to receive their access code to book online.
- How is Sirenis working with Canadian travel agents?
We engage with travel agents either in-person or online. There are so many ways for the travel industry to interact and I’ve seen so much enthusiasm from travel agents and suppliers. We will continue to connect via networking events and, of course, FAMs! Don’t forget, we offer a travel agent rewards program – Sirenis Passport. For Riviera Maya and Punta Cana properties, agents can register bookings at http://sirenispassport.com/ to earn free nights for themselves at these hotels.
