Our trip ended in the city of Mandalay, known for being a city of trade and the former capital of the previous kingdom. It’s home to the longest teak bridge in the country and the Kuthodaw Pagoda, a major Buddhist shrine which features the world’s largest book, each page found within a white stupa surrounding the pagoda.
On our final day in Mandalay, we were welcomed to visit a local nunnery, another Insider Moment which provided us access to the daily pre-lunch ceremony as well as lunch with the nuns, which was donated by Trafalgar Tours, and a fitting last moment in this Asian nation.
Trafalgar Tours will launch the Secrets of Myanmar tour in January 2016, an 11-day exploration of Myanmar.
