The city has many historic sites, including the Latin Bridge, built by the Ottomans and one of the oldest structures of the city. Its across from the Muzej Sarajeva, a museum about the assassination of Austrian Archduke Franz Ferdinand, which occurred on this spot in 1914. And the city bears many scars of war, and encourages visitors to see the Tunnel of Hope, secretly built during the four year siege of the city from 1992-1996.
