Reporting to TICO’s Board of Directors (Board), the new Consumer and Industry Advisory Committee (CIAC) will provide advice on proposed new initiatives, broad policy matters, innovation and/or other changes that impact the travel marketplace, whether leisure or business focused.
The Board recently approved a Terms of Reference for the CIAC, which can be found here.
To become a member on the CIAC the following criteria must be met:

- Members cannot be an employee of the Ontario government
- French language proficiency would be considered an asset
“Tico is excited over this opportunity to leverage the collective input from consumers and travel industry stakeholders,” said Richard Smart, President and CEO of TICO. “This is a unique opportunity to provide valuable insights to strategic initiatives and other activities that will help shape the future consumer protection framework affecting the Ontario travel industry.”
All cover letters and resumes will be reviewed by the Nominations Committee of the CIAC, and candidates should be prepared to make themselves available for further discussion, as required, in May.
