MISSISSAUGA — TICO’s AGM is scheduled for Sept. 17, and like everything else these days, it can be Zoom-ed.
The AGM will take place at 5 p.m. on Thurs., Sept. 17 at the Corporate Event Centre, 5110 Creekbank Road in Mississauga.
Since indoor gatherings are still limited to a maximum of 50 people, anyone planning to attend the meeting in person is required to register in advance by sending an email to tico@tico.ca.
Appropriate health and safety protocols and physical distancing requirements will be in place for the meeting, says TICO.
Adds TICO: “For those uncomfortable attending an in-person meeting at this time, the meeting will be broadcast live via Zoom. Individuals will be able to watch the event and ask questions using the chat feature but will not be able to vote.”
Members who will not be attending the meeting in person are invited to submit written requests for proxies.
The link for the meeting will be posted on TICO’s website by Sept. 10, 2020.
On the agenda for the 2020 AGM are…
(a) receiving the financial statements for the previous financial year, together with the Auditor’s Report;
(b) receiving and considering the Annual Report;
(c) appointing the auditors for the Corporation and authorizing the Board of Directors to fix the auditor’s remuneration;
(d) announcing the successful candidate for the position on the Board of Directors; and
(e) transacting such other business as may properly come before the meeting.
Only members in good standing are entitled to participate in and vote at the AGM, although members of the public are allowed to attend.
The deadline for providing written notice of any motions to be made at the meeting has passed.
The agenda as well as the annual report and business plan including the audited financial statements will be made available on TICO’s website prior to the meeting.
TICO notes the unprecedented situation: “As a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, circumstances are fluid and changes to the usual meeting arrangements may be required. Please watch for further updates concerning the event. Notice will be provided with respect to any changes.”
