WEST PALM BEACH — Less than one week after its latest delay, Bahamas Paradise Cruise Line has once again pushed back its resumption date to Oct. 1, 2020.

All future sailings have been suspended until the start of October due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. The cruise line most recently extended its pause in operations until Aug. 28, 2020.

CEO Oneil Khosa said the decision was made in light of the CDC’s recent extension of its No Sail Order.

The news of this latest delay also comes on the heels of The Bahamas’ recent decision to close its borders to all passengers from the United States. Bahamas Paradise Cruise Line operates two-night getaways from West Palm Beach, Florida to The Bahamas.

“While we are disappointed that we are not able to sail as planned, we will of course continue to work side by side with the CDC and have therefore suspended all future sailings until Oct. 1,” said Khosa. “We are also aware of the recent announcement from Bahamas Prime Minister Humbert Munnis regarding the travel ban on travellers from the U.S., and we are prepared to make necessary changes to our sailing schedule, as needed.

“Until then, we will continue our preparations to return to Grand Bahama Island while keeping a close eye on the overall landscape. We look forward to welcoming guests back onboard and appreciate everyone’s patience throughout this process.”

According to Khosa, Bahamas Paradise Cruise Line remains one of the few cruise lines that have reported no cases of the virus onboard its ships since the outbreak of COVID-19. It is also the only cruise line in the United States to receive ‘green status’ from the CDC on its No Sail Response plan, meaning it has met the requirements in providing a safe environment for crew members to work and disembark via commercial travel.
