TORONTO — Following a $30 million renovation, the Riu Cancun reopens this month and is exclusive to Signature Vacations in Canada.
Centrally located, this all-inclusive beachfront property features completely renovated and upgraded guest rooms, revamped on-site restaurants, and a newly designed façade and lobby.
The property has been further enhanced with the addition of an infinity pool; increasing the total number of pools in the complex to four.
Guest rooms are complete with 40-inch TVs, expansive showers (some rooms also feature whirlpool baths), satellite TV, electronic safes and WiFi.
Dining at the Riu Cancun has also been transformed. Completely renovated, the main restaurant, the Miramar, offers a range of different world cuisine. For more casual dining, the pool restaurant now features an enclosed area ‘Coral’, as well as outdoor terrace for relaxed al fresco dining ‘Turquesa’. Guests also benefit from several theme restaurants at no additional charge including Kawachi, serving Japanese cuisine and a new Italian restaurant, also open for lunch, La Toscana.
Riu Cancun’s renovations extend to four bars including an aquatic bar, Wet’N Drinking; while the picturesque bar lounge, La Fiesta, has been enlarged with an expansive sea-facing terrace.
Accented with lush gardens and impressive new landscaping, Riu Cancun also features the Renova Spa with a wide selection of treatments and a fully-equipped fitness centre. Water sports and activities are plentiful, with complimentary windsurfing, canoeing and snorkeling. Guests can take the catamaran out for a sail, or participate in an introductory scuba diving lesson.
Signature Vacations offers 56 weekly departures from 20 gateways across Canada to Cancun; with a further four departure airports (Buffalo, Val D’Or, Fort McMurray and Grande Prairie) being introduced for the coming season. A one-week vacation package to the Riu Cancun starts from $895 plus $392 taxes per person. Prices are based on double occupancy of an Oceanview Room departing Toronto on Nov. 4, 11 or 18 2014.
