TORONTO — Ethiopian Airlines has appointed long-time employee Samson Arega as its new Country Manager for Canada.

Arega, who began his career with the carrier and has been with the company since graduating from university, previously served as Acting Manager, Passenger Sales in Addis Ababa, and Country Manager in Kuwait.

On his new role, Arega said: “I am delighted to have been granted this opportunity. I will be working hard to expand awareness of Ethiopian Airlines to Canadians. We have made such a positive impact over the past several years, and my goal is to continue to strengthen this momentum.”

Arega added that the carrier is looking to expand its Canadian and African network and grow the trade and tourism market. “We have some exciting opportunities we are currently working on.”

Ethiopian Airlines currently flies direct from Toronto to Addis Ababa 5x/weekly. From Addis Ababa, passengers can connect to over 60 African destinations.
