TULUM — Two new resorts are coming to Mexico’s Yucatan Peninsula.

According to reports in the Riviera Maya News, Grupo Posadas says it plans to build a 340-room resort and a 515-room resort, both in the Tulum area.

The smaller of the two properties will be the Live Aqua Beach Resort Tulkal, while the larger resort will be the Fiesta Americana All-Inclusive Tulkal.

The investment is said to be worth more than US$100 million. The resorts are expected to open in 2021.

Grupo Posadas is the parent company of Live Aqua, Grand Fiesta Americana and Fiesta America, among others. The group’s Commercial Director for Vacation Properties, Mauricio Carreón Lavalle, told the Riviera Maya News that “Posadas considers the Mexican Caribbean a very important multi-destination to continue with its growth and consolidation plans in the coming years due to its incomparable natural beauty and the attractive tourist services it offers for all kinds of visitors.”
